About Grassington Hub

Grassington Hub is an award-winning, volunteer led community hub situated in the heart of Grassington Village.
The Hub provides a wide range of services to residents, local businesses, and visitors to the area.
We support the people that need help, creating new visions for our bit of the Dales and helping to make our communities strong and cohesive. Working from Hetton to Cracoe, and Appletreewick to Arncliffe, 2000 residents plus 1000 visitors use our services each year.
Our services are run by our 60+ volunteers. We couldn’t do what we do without them. Their support helps make sure our activities are affordable.
Our work falls into three main areas:
Community Hub and Library
Grassington Hub & Community Library provides a focal point for community-led activities. It’s used by 800 people a year on over 10,500 occasions, and offers a place for both residents and visitors to access help, support and information, photocopying and office services, or just have a chat. We support local groups with an events box office, and local press liaison, provide community meeting spaces, work with Grassington Chamber of Trade to manage the Discover Grassington website, organise coffee mornings, and a monthly community cinema.
Support to Vulnerable People
This growing area of work supports frail or elderly people, those with mental ill-health, dementia or disability, and their carers. Our open access and targeted well-being activities include monthly community lunches, The Friday Hub wellbeing cafe, knit and natter groups, Men’s Shed, book clubs, and a home library service for housebound and other users. Our new Befriending Service will be launched in October 2023.
Staying Healthy, Independent and Connected (SHIC)
During 2022 we took part in a pilot project (SHIC) which seeks to enable residents to continue to live healthy, happy, and independent lives within their communities and to reduce, delay or prevent their need for long-term statutory social care or health service care and support. The pilot finished on 31st March 2023, and we will be continuing this work from 1st April 2023 for three further years. This project is funded by North Yorkshire Council Health & Adult Services..
